Our sleep centers are directed by Dr. Konrad W. Bakker and Dr. Marc
Raphaelson. Both physicians are board-certified by the American Board
of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) and in Neurology.
Konrad
W. Bakker, M.D. graduated from the University of Amsterdam School
of Medicine in The Netherlands in 1981. He performed rotating internships
at the University of Leiden Medical Center in The Netherlands during
1981-1982. Dr. Bakker was a visiting fellow at the National Institutes
of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD during 1983-1984. His then completed
his residency program in Neurology at Georgetown University Medical
Center in Washington, DC during 1984-1987. He is board-certified in
Neurology with added qualifications in Neurophysiology by the American
Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Marc
Raphaelson, M.D. graduated from the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine in 1978. He went through his internship at the Presbyterian-University
of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA during 1978-1979.
He started his residency program in Neurology at Stanford University
Medical Center in 1979, and he then later completed it at the National
Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD in 1982. Dr. Raphaelson is
board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and
Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology.
